Aus_Flag.gifWelcome to the Busselton and Japanese FlagSugito Sister Cities Association Website.

Promoting mutual understanding, goodwill and friendship between the
people of
Busselton and Sugito.

Busselton, Western Australia has enjoyed a sister city association with Sugito, Japan since 1996. This relationship is essentially cultural with people from both towns enjoying bi-ennial community exchanges, annual school exchanges and occasional specific interest exchanges, such as the traditional Japanese gardeners who established a Japanese garden for Busselton.

The relationship is managed by the Busselton and Sugito Sister Cities Association (BASSCA), a volunteer organisation comprising approx 70 members. The Association has a very active committee of 10 members who meet once a month and are responsible for organising the various exchanges.

BASSCA's responsibilities also cover a variety of other Sister City related activities including the management of the Japanese Friendship Garden and Sugito Gift Displays.

Membership of BASSCA is open to all residents of the City of Busselton and companies, associations or clubs with an interest in promoting the objectives of BASSCA.

Residents with Japanese language skills who are willing to volunteer their time to assist with visits from Sugito are always very appreciated by BASSCA.

For more information please use the 'Contact BASSCA' tab on the menu on the left.

Another great way to keep in touch with the activities of BASSCA and Facebook_300x117.jpgour sister city Sugito, is The Bridge of Busselton Sugito Facebook page.
