Biennial Community Exchanges

Biennial visits by community members in both towns have occurred in alternate years since 1996, when the initial group of ten people visited Sugito from Busselton. These home stays feature a broad range of activities arranged by either BASSCA (in Busselton) or the International Association (in Sugito) and the weekends are free to enjoy with host families.

These exchanges have allowed a number of people to appreciate the two very different cultures and since 1996 a number of firm friendships have been formed, with people keeping in regular touch via email, social media and private visits.
